Are you cottage, tropical or a little bit country modern?

Country garden

One of the aspects that Gaynor, our horticulturist loves about garden design, is the opportunity to explore diverse planting styles.

From cottage gardens to tropical paradises and country modern landscapes, there are many different planting styles to choose from, and we’ll talk about a few below.

A cottage garden has a quaint charm, characterised by its informal layout and abundant blooms depicting nostalgia and romance. When designing a cottage garden, we’ll use delicate mixed perennials, like Astranita, Aquieigeia, Delphinums and Lavender, plus shrubs such as roses and Philadelphus that mingle effortlessly amidst herbs and climbing plants, creating a tapestry of colours and fragrances. There’s a beautiful imperfection about a cottage garden that invites nature to flourish in a relaxed and enchanting setting.

A tropical garden on the other hand creates a vibrant oasis bursting with lush foliage and exotic looking plants. Palms, ferns and Phormiums sway gracefully amidst flamboyant brightly coloured perennials such as Crocosmia Lucifer and Kniphofia offering lush foliage and exotic feel.

A popular style we’re increasingly asked about is the country modern style. This is perfect for those seeking a blend of rustic charm and contemporary elegance.

A country modern garden integrates traditional elements with modern design principles, creating a timeless yet sophisticated outdoor space. Clipped topary, perennial shrubs and ornamental trees provide structure and texture, whilst sleek architectural features and minimalist accents add a touch of refinement. A country modern garden exudes understated luxury and tranquillity, inviting you to unwind amidst nature's embrace.

There’s a planting style to suit every taste and garden– whether that’s the quaint allure of a cottage garden, the exotic allure of a tropical paradise or the serene sophistication of a country modern landscape. When you have a garden consultation with Andi Way Garden design, we’ll help you embark on a journey to create a garden that reflects what you love, amidst the beauty and diversity of nature.
