GARDEN BECOMES EXTENSION OF HOME FOR FAMILY

HOW TO MAKE YOUR GARDEN PART OF YOUR HOME WITH YOUR GARDEN DESIGN.

The Brief

This garden was primarily to be a space for the family to spill out into and enjoy.

The garden needed to have space to sit and enjoy the evening sunshine, as well as an area for after-dark relaxation.

Their son wanted enough lawn to play, along with a climbing wall and trampoline for additional activity.

Not forgetting the family dog, he needed to be given space to run and do what dogs do, without it impacting on the main garden.

The Solution

Three seating areas now give the family space outdoors to enjoy at any time of the day, from a morning coffee through to evenings around the fire pit enjoying a BBQ.

A pergola walk divides the space without blocking any views, giving the opportunity to plant fragrant flowers as well as hang atmospheric lighting. A wide and accessible path links the key areas and frames the new lawn.

There is a specific space for play equipment that can be reverted to planting when the time comes as the children grow older, and there is plenty of secure doggy space and bin storage to the side.

Two specimen trees add to the sense of privacy, plus add some dappled shade to one of the seating areas during the hottest weather.
